Ecclesiastes 8:17
then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all their efforts to search it out, no one can discover its meaning. Even if the wise claim they know, they cannot really comprehend it.

Psalms 49:15

he will surely take me to himself.

This verse was written about a thousand years before the arrival of the Messiah on earth. However, the writer knew that redemption would come.

Yes, Don, they knew about the resurrection, but I think it was more vague to them cuz Jesus resurrection and the New Testament writings is what brought it into clearer focus for us
Don M.
Don M. from Mexia, TX said:
Yes, as it is obvious that some of the details of His second coming are a little vague to us now. It will occur just as the Scriptures tell us, but some of the details may be slightly different than we imagined. Putting the vague details aside, won't that be a great day?

Psalms 35:9
Then my soul will rejoice in the Lord
and delight in his salvation.
Don M.
Don M. from Mexia, TX said:
To me, it is important to note that the Lord's salvation was sought throughout the Bible. Those who love Him have always looked to Him for salvation, and He did provide a glorious salvation through His Son. It is also interesting to note that this particular chapter uses the term "Angel of the Lord" on more than one occasion. There are many Bible scholars who believe that this term was referring to Christ (pre-incarnate).

he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.

Don M. from Mexia, TX said:
We should always be reminded that God is in charge. While nations and leaders have their own plans, It is God's plan that will succeed in the end.

Once again, it is so hard to pick one verse. However, I chose this one because atheism is perhaps my greatest frustration. I worry about the lost, and an atheist, in my experience, is the toughest to reach. They seem to be almost perfectly inoculated from the Word. To them, the Law has no meaning, and the Cross offers them nothing... very frustrating.
