Psalms 14:1
The fool says in his heart,
"There is no God."
They are corrupt, their deeds are vile;
there is no one who does good.

Anyone who could look at the world we live in and not come to the conclusion that there is a Creator deserves to be called a "fool", (God's word not mine). Some people come to that conclusion because they can't make sense out of all the suffering in this world. They fail to see that suffering is a result of Adam's sin. The good news is the second Adam, Jesus Christ has come and taken care of the sin problem and offers sinners the free gift of eternal life. Jesus has promised to come again and restore all things back to the way it was before Adam's sin. Come Lord Jesus!

Once again, it is so hard to pick one verse. However, I chose this one because atheism is perhaps my greatest frustration. I worry about the lost, and an atheist, in my experience, is the toughest to reach. They seem to be almost perfectly inoculated from the Word. To them, the Law has no meaning, and the Cross offers them nothing... very frustrating.

A lot of people say in their mind that there is a God, yet deny it in their heart and life. They may believe in God in theory, yet be a practical atheist or agnostic in the way they live. We say that there is no God when we shut Him up in a far-off heaven, and never think of Him as a personal Papa that wants an intimate relationship with us and is concerned in every detail of our life. When we strip Him of His justice and rob Him of His control, we are indeed a fool. The Biblical conception of folly is moral perversity not intellectual feebleness, and if someone is morally and religiously wrong they're intellectually wrong too. Papa God show me the areas of my life I'm still agnostic or atheistic... the areas I haven't turned completely over to You. Shine Your heavenly light deep into my heart that I will have Your wisdom and not my folly.

Psalm 14:1 – Since the heart is the seat of our desires, the fool saying in his heart there is no God, is only his desire. You can say all you want that it is not going to rain, but you will be a fool having a picnic in a heavy downpour. If there was no God there would be no one to answer to, that is the fools desire. Hey fool, if there is no one to answer to then there is no one to cry out to. It takes more faith to not believe in God than to believe. There is evidence of God everywhere. The heaven declare the glory of God. They pour forth speech to those that want to hear. Father God, i know there is a veil covering eyes of the fools, please take those blinder off of them so that they too can share in Your goodness and grace. Thank You Father for opening my eyes. Keep my eyes, hears and heart open to all You have for me. Without You life would be meaningless, a chasing after the wind.
