I'm with you, Bill. I find some of these things very vague, like why was the Lord angered for the counting, if that was the cause of His anger. God bless.

To Bill and Lloyd read 1 Chronicles 21: 1-8 It is my thinking that taking a numbering of the men who were fit for battle. David might put his confidence in the number of men he had rather then on the Lord. If you are confidence is in the Lord, it would not matter if there were only 300 men. Because if God is for you, who can be against you?

What purpose did the old prophet have in deceiving the man go God? He truly was sad for the loss of the mans life, but why? Can someone help me understand this?

Nancy M. from Runnemede, NJ said:
Hi Bill, i can only guess, but i think the old prophet wanted to feel and look important. If someone like Pastor Chuck Smith (who went home with the Lord today) was speaking in the city near me (Philly) and had a really busy schedule but took time out to have lunch with me I would be honored and my friends would think I was someone special. If that desire in my heart was stronger than my love for the Lord I would say anything to make it happen. But if Papa Chuck got in trouble for believing my lie and dinning with me I would feel bad.
