Yet Jehu was not careful to keep the law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He did not turn away from the sins of Jeroboam, which he had caused Israel to commit.

It becomes rather difficult to follow who's on God's side, here, and who's not. Seems to be similar issues with our governments, today.

Verse 29 mentions the worship of golden calves..Jehu had seemed determined to anialate the worshippers of Baal. Jehu didn't view the calves the same way. He saw them as a place where the people went to worship God instead of going down to the temple in Jerusalem. This kept them in Israel as opposed to traveling to Judea. Jehu seemed a bit bloodthirsty in his methods of seeing the word of the Lord fulfilled. His heart was not following the commandments of the law according to this verse, even though it doesn't spell out his sins. It is important for us all to always remember that God desires our complete obedience with our whole heart.

here we see in this verse Jehu was not after Gods own heart as was King David. He failed to walk in the law of God. Israel true God, with all his heart, he compromised and turn to the ways of Jeroboam. There is a lesson here, how tragic it would be for us if our lives were taken over by compromise and religious half-heartedness that we to fail to serve God faithfully.

Amen Peter. It is amazing that Jehu eliminated all who worshiped Baal and then himself turned around and worshiped the golden calves, being nothing more than idle worship. Just as you have said, we cannot be religiously half-hearted and profess to be Christian, and fail to follow God faithfully. Enjoy that warmer weather brother Peter, and hopefully it will stay. Calling for 55 here today, currently 52. Be blessed. :-)

Jehu did most of what he had been instructed but he did not follow all that he should have in following the ways of the Lord. Lord. Fore that reason the Lord began to reduce Israel. It is a reminder for me, to obey the commands of the Lord, every way I know, and ask Him to show me what I may be weak in, that I may stand honorably before Him, without fear of judgment.

Jehu obeyed the Lord and eliminated Ahab's family along with all Baal worship in the land of Israel but he gave into worshiping the golden calves that Jeroboam set up when he began his reign. So Jehu became God's instrument of justice but he failed to become a servant of the Lord. He like a lot of people today gave lip service to the Lord but their hearts are far from God. God not only demands our obedience but He wants our hearts too. We all need to regularly check our hearts!

Amen, Terry. We must fully seek the ways of the Lord and not just some of them. Lord, help me to follow You and I ask You to oopen my eyes to the things I may be weak in and give me the will to make the corrections I need. Amen
