1 Kings 17:24
Then the woman said to Elijah, "Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord from your mouth is the truth."
Lloyd S.

Elijah was obedient to the Lord as He had instructed Elijah, and the Lord supplied all Elijah's needs and therefore the Lord acted through Elijah, rewarding him for his obedience and trust in the Lord. The Lord then showed His power through Elijah as he called out to the Lord to save the woman's son, once again showing His power in saving the woman's son. A great lesson for us as believers today, to be obedient to the Lord, that when we call upon Him, He will answer.

Without seeing the women was unsure if Elijah was truly sent by God but once she saw her son alive she knew it was by God that he lived. Lord, let my heart believe without seeing for faith is knowing something is true without seeing. Let my faith be strong and let my strength come from you.

Using up the flour and oil everyday to make their daily bread and every morning waking up to discover their was enough flour and oil to make bread apparently wasn't enough for the woman to know Elijah was a prophet of God. Instead it took the raising of her son from the dead for her finally to know that Elijah was a prophet of the Lord. Often times we're like the woman, we neglect the little things God does for us each day and forget to praise Him for the small gifts of grace He graciously supplies us. We have food on our tables, a roof over our heads, clothing on our backs, shoes on our feet, We have the Word of God in our own language. We have more than the vast majority in this world. We are a blessed people!
