Genesis 7:11
In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, on the seventeenth day of the second month—on that day all the springs of the great deep burst forth, and the floodgates of the heavens were opened.

I believe the majority, if not all religions on the Earth, at one time or another, have recorded or made mention of the Great Flood. It is a well documented event today, many have tried to disprove it and failed. I love how percise this was recorded -- even to the day in this chapter. You just know the Lord had His hand on this -- how awesome is our God. Amen.

The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.

Yes, help us to walk in obedience to You, Lord, and be lights to those who don't yet know the Lord Jesus as Saviour. Help our nation to return to obedience to Your commands. Amen.

Hebrews 6:6
and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.

Craig D. from Ottawa, ON said:
This was a very difficult verse to come to terms with and it caused me great anguish and pain in my soul. I say this because I got caught up in the sins of the flesh, and as a result, was unfaithful to my God and my wife. Nonetheless, "God is not unjust, He did not forget the love that I showed Him as I helped His people snd continue to do so with all His help.

Hebrews 5:14
But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.
Craig D.
Craig D. from Ottawa, ON said:
This verse reminds me that if I wish to become mature in Christ, I must study His word daily -- praying and petitioning God to help me be more like Jesus.

Hebrews 4:16
Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Craig D.
Craig D. from Ottawa, ON said:
We can approach the Throne of Grace with confidence now, because God no longer sees us as sinners, but as Sons, because of Jesus.

Hebrews 3:1
Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.
Craig D.
Craig D. from Ottawa, ON said:
This verse reminds me to "fix my thoughts on Jesus" everyday. I reminds me that I need to get into His word everyday to know God. Jesus is the author and perfector of our faith. It is only through Him that we can know what God is truly like. He does not change with the times, what He said then still stands today. The world may tell us what is acceptable today, but if it goes against God's word -- then it is a lie and a sin. Many people chose not to believe God's word today because it goes against what they want to do.

Hebrews 2:11
Both the one who makes people holy and those who are made holy are of the same family. So Jesus is not ashamed to call them brothers and sisters.
Craig D.
Craig D. from Ottawa, ON said:
This verse means everything to me, it illustrates just how much God loves us. In spite of our evil ways and disobedience He adopted us as brothers and sisters by His redemptive work on the cross. He who was already Holy left His position of authority, became less then an angel, so that He might conquer death through His suffering and make us (all mankind) holy. And He is not "ashamed" to call "us" brothers and sister? All I can say to that is, "I am ashamed I have not done more to thank Him for what He has done for me." Who's love can compare to this? What an honour that the Lord Almighty, the creator of Heaven and Earth, would call us "brothers and sisters" and make us "sons and daughters of the Most High." This verse just inspires me to want to do more for Him.

Hebrews 1:5
For to which of the angels did God ever say,

"You are my Son;
today I have become your Father"?

Or again,

"I will be his Father,
and he will be my Son"?

Craig D.
Craig D. from Ottawa, ON said:
This verse illustrates just who Jesus is -- the true Son of God -- far above the angels who minister to and for Him. This verse also clearly disputes the claim of some misguided religions that claim that Jesus is an archangel or a prophet of the Lord.

Philemon 1:11
Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me.

Craig D.
Craig D. from Ottawa, ON said:
This verse shows the Power of God in Christ to change lives: "Formally he was useless to you," Onesimus was Philemon's slave and most likely hid and avoided his chores or duties. And if he did them, he probably did a half-fast job. Then to make matters worse, I think he ran away from him. Now however, Onesimus is a new man in Christ; no longer avoiding his responsibilities but whole-heartedly desiring to help where ever he can. "The New Adam." Praise God!
