This reminds me of the story of the Good Samaritan. Do I see the wounded man or woman who needs to know the One who can bandage their wounds, or am I so wrapped up in my religious duties that I am blinded to what is truly important to the Father.

The key to unlocking what Jesus has to give us is our faith, trusting in His goodness, His love and His power to bring about what He says He will. May I have the faith to bank all on Him.

If I call Him Lord then I need to set my heart on doing the will of the Father which is set out in these verses, live so to point others towards Christ even if it means your "rights" must suffer. I don't need to do more religious acts, I need to love God with all my heart and love my neighbor.

What are my eyes focused upon? If upon Jesus and His Kingdom then I will be full of light, if not then I let darkness in. May I set my eyes continually upon jesus and receive of Him to do His will for His glory.

Am I walking in such a way that people see Jesus in me, if so many will speak evil of me. But as Jesus goes on to say I must be salt and light and know that my blessings come based on Christ's faithfulness to me as I walk with Him. May I desire to please Him and let the world say what it will.

Just as with our Lord, we will often be lead after a high point to a point of testing so that our faith and our focus will be found right and be strengthened. At those times we must rely on the Spirit to give us strength to overcome.

The common people were prepared for receiving their Savior, they recognized their sin and their need to confess and turn to God. They were hungry to receive, but the religious leaders did not see nor ackowledge their sin and most would miss the coming of the Messiah.

That the Magi knew that Jesus, even as a baby was worthy of worship and they gave Him great gifts. Am I worshipping the Savior and giving to Him my best?
