Matthew 9:13
But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Jesus preached, taught, and healed sickness and every disease not to be seen but heard from those that he showed compassion too. And when others asked questions of him he said "But go and learn what this means: Meaning to learn compassion for others and that He "desired mercy, and not sacrifice. ' He was not looking for those who could sacrifice some gift to Him but to those who were seeking forgiveness, He was not looking for those who were righteous in their beliefs of Him, He is not looking for those who have been saved but sinners." who needed saving, who could be brought closer to Him to believe in Him, love Him and who could be saved through Him. He was not playing a game of how many are saved but He came to save all who could be saved.

JESUS IS LOOKING FOR THOSE WHOM NEED TO BE SAVED. (SINNERS) HE IS NOT LOOKING FOR THOSE WHO ARE ALREADY SAVED FOR THEY DO NOT NEED A DOCTOR. (SAVING)

Command to learn from Jesus. He desires mercy (kindness, forgiveness) not sacrifice (ritual, regumented). Jesus came to call sinners to repentance. If the righteous was already following God, they should be doing the things God wanted.

This reminds me of the story of the Good Samaritan. Do I see the wounded man or woman who needs to know the One who can bandage their wounds, or am I so wrapped up in my religious duties that I am blinded to what is truly important to the Father.

Jsus did not come for the righteous but for sinners. Jesus came for me and you. He bore our sins on the cross and I am forgiveness of my sins and have eternal life through our Lord Jesus.

Love trumps works (for works' sake). God desires our relationship with Him & reflecting that love onto others much more than He ever desires our blind actions for "obedience". The PRPs (professional religious people) were great at doing everything just right, but the simple concept of mercy never entered their thoughts (example: when Jesus told them "let he who is without sin cast the first stone", about the woman caught in adultery). Ever wonder about where the man was in that particular relationship? Perhaps even one of the surrounding people standing around ready to stone her? Just wondering...

I am so thankful that Jesus came to this Earth for the sinners! If he had come for just the righteous then not one of us would be able to enter the Kingdom of God!
