Matthew 2:11
On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Matthew 2:11 – When I read this verse I think of the Christmas cards that say, “Wise men still seek Him”. When we seek Him we find Him if we seek Him with all of our heart. (Deuteronomy 4:29) – Like the wise men, when we find Him we bow down and worship Him. There is sometimes a cost to worship. We may lose friends or influence with others. Family members may distant themselves from us. We have to give up our pride and humble ourselves to the only One that is worthy of our worship. When we worship, we give of ourselves, but the blessings that comes back are 7 fold. When we seek Him, we find Him. When we find Him, we worship Him. When we worship Him, we give of ourselves and receive 7 fold back. “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6) The 3 gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh were giving because Jesus is King, Priest and Prophet. Gold was for the King of Kings. Frankincense was for our ministering High Priest and myrrh was for a martyred Prophet. Father in Heaven, remind me daily that I am to give of myself to You. Everything I have to give seems so insignificant, but anything giving to You for the right reasons will bless not only me but others as well. You are the God that makes everything beautiful (even me) in Your time.

The question arises in my mind, "what gifts do I offer my Lord and Savior today?" Is it my best or are those gifts the worst of the lame or maimed of the flock? Lord help me to offer the best of myself in all that I do for your kingdom and to give because I love, not because I am obligated to give. Whatever my hand finds to do let me do it with all my might for your glory.

What a majestic sight that would have been. To see the saviour with his Mother and to be able to bow down in reverence and worship him. What a wonderful gift God has given us all.

The fact that upon arrival these Magi already had great reverence for Christ the king of kings. The Magi otherwise known as either wise men or kings from the east in either case they honored the son of God , the true king with the most valuable gifts of the time. You see God who is all knowing planned it that way because how would Joseph and Mary be able to survive or provide for themselves and Jesus if not for these treasures from which all their needs were financed. Praise God who supplies all our needs according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus.!

That the Magi knew that Jesus, even as a baby was worthy of worship and they gave Him great gifts. Am I worshipping the Savior and giving to Him my best?
