Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
John D. from San Jose, CA said:
"In the beginning, God...", are probably the most important, the most profound, and the most theologically rich words of the entire Bible, because it is only after accepting that God is that the rest of the Bible makes any sense, or has any power to shape our lives.

Hebrews 5:2
He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness.
John D. from San Jose, CA said:
I know that the writer is speaking of human priests here, but I am reminded of earlier verse that this refers to when speaking of Jesus, Heb. 2:18 and 4:15 that both say (iin different ways) that Jesus was tempted as we are, yet without sin.
What an AWESOME Savior we have!

Hebrews 4:16
Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
John D. from San Jose, CA said:
Because of God's grace, I know that He will never leave or forsake me, that I can always come to Him, no matter the circumstance. It is on this basis that I may rest in the finished work of my Lord and Savior.

Hebrews 3:6
But Christ is faithful as the Son over God's house. And we are his house, if indeed we hold firmly to our confidence and the hope in which we glory.
John D. from San Jose, CA said:
We ARE God's House! We ARE the Body of Christ! We ARE His Church!
May we always be mindful that each and every believer is our brother or sister and that we are members, one of another. I cannot survive without you, nor you without me.
God bless us all, every one!

Philemon 1:5
because I hear about your love for all his holy people and your faith in the Lord Jesus.
John D. from San Jose, CA said:
I am reminded that in Paul's day there was a real sense of unity in The Church, the Body of Christ that is decidedly absent today. As believers, we have come to cling to our favored doctrines over fellow believers, becoming hopelessly separated and lost.
I look often to Jesus prayer in John 17 and am reminded that it is His will that we be one, even as He and the Father are One.

Titus 2:14
who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
John D. from San Jose, CA said:
Jesus gave everything for my salvation in order that I would give everything back to Him in this life. I am a member of The Church, the Body of Christ, so I represent Him as I walk this life. If I am to avoid disgracing His body, I need to walk in obedience to Him.

Matthew 1:23
"The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" (which means "God with us").
John D. from San Jose, CA said:
One of the things that makes our Bible unique is the fact that nearly countless prophesies are made and fulfilled in it. That particular one was, I believe, made around 700 years prior to the birth of Jesus.
What an incredible proof, both of the power and faithfulness of our great God and savior!

Exodus 40:3
Place the ark of the covenant law in it and shield the ark with the curtain.
John D. from San Jose, CA said:
The curtain was before the Holy of Holies in the tabernacle just as the veil was in the temple. It was there that none but the High Priest may view the most Holy Place, and then only once a year.
I marvel at the fact that since Christ's death and resurrection, every believer has access to the Lord, and any time or any place.

Exodus 33:11
The Lord would speak to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but his young aide Joshua son of Nun did not leave the tent.
John D. from San Jose, CA said:
In the days of Moses the people required an intercession or Priest to speak to God on their behalf. How blessed are we that we no longer need an intercession, but may come boldly before God's throne of grace for praise and worship or to make petitions to out Lord and Savior.
Praise our God for His rich blessing!
On Numbers 2:34 by Ken J.
“Moses obeyed God's instructions exactly as he received them. This verse…”
