Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God.

All good things come from above. We cannot claim to say that we love God, and/but walk hand-in-hand with the devil.

2 John 1:7
I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist.

Jesus, Himself said something to this effect that, in the last days, some people will claim that they are sent by God, and will also claim that they are God. I say, the only way to check these people out is to see if they are living their lives by the "fruit of the Holy Spirit". Many will be deceived. I pray that I will not be. Grace and peace to all.

That's why 2Timothy 2:15 tells us; "Study earnestly to present yourself approved to God, a workman that does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the Word of Truth." It is up to us to study the Bible and know the truth so we will not be deceived. God bless

Thanx Lloyd. I agree w/ your comment. And it says in Psalm 118:8 "It is better to trust in the Lord rather than man." That seals it all.

Pauline, You are so right... trust in the Lord rather than man. God will never disappoint us, man will. It reminds me of the hymn, Keep Your Eyes on Jesus.

From up to verse 26 leading to this verse, Jesus is simply telling us to watch out for each other. To take care of each other, minister to each other, if we must, provide for the means needs of the less fortunate.

The Pharisees and the Saducees have have in their hearts and is hell bent on killing Jesus... they rejected Jesus as their own, did not believed that He was the Messiah, the Anointed One, and passed a death sentence on Jesus and ordered for Him to die a cruel death, on a bogus charge of blasphemy. Such hatred seered in the hearts of man that they rejected Jesus as the Messiah. But Jesus took it for us.... all of it.

John 6:63
The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life.
Pauline N.
Pauline N. from Ottawa said:
Wow... another proof that we are born of the Spirit. The flesh counts for nothing, it is corrupt and will decompose in time. It is just an earthly suit to house the spirit. God is Spirit and we must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. That's the bottom line.

John 4:7
When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, "Will you give me a drink?"
Pauline N.
Pauline N. from Ottawa said:
Wow... this verse really hit me like a jolt, because Jesus Himself is asking, albeit proposing... with the words "Will you give me a drink?" Will we give Him our troubles? Will we give Him our desperation, sorrow, sickness, illness, discontent... everything that is bogging us down....in chains and shackles...wow! And in exchange, He will give us the Living Water, the Water of Life... in an endless spring of water from eternal life. Thank you Abba!

John 3:11
Very truly I tell you, we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our testimony.
Pauline N.
Pauline N. from Ottawa said:
Many to this day, leading to the Last Days, people still and will reject Jesus Christ as Saviour and Messiah, that is why He called them fools. It is because of their own admission that God does not exist and/or the refusal in the divinity of Jesus that these people have already sealed their own fate. But, it is never too late for people to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, for until our last breath, anyone who calls on the Name of the Lord, shall be saved. What a Mighty God! Ever-loving, always forgiving. Why wait? When we can go to Him right now. The very essence of the Pocket Testimony.
Lloyd S.
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
So true Pauline, as I commented on the last verse, many believe in their mind that Jesus exists and even is Lord, and yet do not realize their need to commit to and follow Him.

When we believe in something, it must be followed through or act upon or carry it out. Believing and following are both active verbs, and to do those things and putting our faith in Jesus Christ who is The Way, The Truth and The Life (notice....all in present tense and active verbs). In other words, we have to walk The Walk and talk The Talk. And to be able to do this, we have to be "born of the Spirit". The Born Again nature. People cannot "follow" Christ if they are not born again. Other than that or anything else, they're running on empty and banking only on "good works" and that's what religion is.

Luke 20:46
"Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets.

These are exciting times we, as Christians, live in. Because, now, more than ever, false teachers are so many, even Jesus, Himself declared that. We should pray earnestly for discernment in matters like these, be strongly rooted in the Word and allow the Holy Spirit to move in and through us in matters of the heart, where God lives.

So true, Pauline. There are many who desire to draw attention to themselves, rather than Jesus and His truths. God bless you, sister in Christ.
