As Jesus was dying, He made provision for His mother through John, and thus the care of Mary became John's responsibility. As He was bearing the sin of the world, Jesus still took care of His mother. What a Savior! And then Jesus completed His mission just as He said in Mt. 20:28 that He came to "give His life a ransom for many."

Jesus, even in His dying breath, made sure His mother would be cared for, obviously by His disciple John, who was called the disciple Jesus loved. This shows that Jesus, being equal with Jehovah, never forsakes those He loves. Joshua 1:5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you.
