Isaiah 66:1
This is what the Lord says:

"Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool.
Where is the house you will build for me?
Where will my resting place be?

The Lord is looking for people who are true to His Word and is serving Him to carry out His Work here on earth and spread His Word and love for the ones who are not serving Him. We are to serve the Lord and bring others to Him into His Salvation so they can live eternity with Him.

Yes, Brooke, what Mary said is right, but I'm gonna add my 2 cents. We, Christians are the temple of the Holy Ghost (God). We're the house Jesus built for His Father. He is our resting place.

Brooke, God is so big that the earth is like a little footstool to Him. Man cannot build God a house because God is bigger than the whole earth.

Isaiah 65:1
"I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me;
I was found by those who did not seek me.
To a nation that did not call on my name,
I said, 'Here am I, here am I.'

There are people whom I know that others think I am wasting my time continuing to pray for. Others say, 'they will never change'. Yet, I will never give up hope. I have seen positive changes in some whom others think I waste my time praying for. But it is not up to 'others', it is up to God & His timing. I also believe that prayer is NEVER a waste of time.

I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord,
the deeds for which he is to be praised,
according to all the Lord has done for us—
yes, the many good things
he has done for Israel,
according to his compassion and many kindnesses.

Hallelujah...!!! watched the Lord remove some stones this morning as our service was taken over by the Lord with words of knowledge spoken forth and people healed and set free of bondages. Pastor didn't even preach His message, just allowed Holy Spirit to do what He wanted to do. Love it when He takes over a service, which seems to be happening more frequently. Praise God....!!!!

to proclaim freedom for the captives

My best friend, who started out as my Bible study leader years ago, and still continues to help guide me; shared with me, back in October, that he envisions me involved in 'deliverence ministry'. At first I thought, 'ME?!? Yeah right!'. But now I can see it myself and I am very excited about it! :-)

Well, Brooke, if it's what God has for you, wait on Him and He'll bring it to pass. I've found in my life, and had other people tell me this too, is that God gives the vision, then the vision kinda dies, then, he resurects it for His glory. So just keep asking Him to show you the way and if, what your friend said is true, it'll come to pass.
Brooke F.
Brooke F. from BENTON HARBOR, MI said:
I agree Donna. As I looked at it though it does make sense. I am most excited to share the Word and share about my Faith. And as my friend said, I do tend to run into people alot who are lost or seeking. Of couse, it is all in God's timing when one comes to Him. My words may not have an impact on someone today, but I hope that one day they will think back on what I shared. God still works through me whether or not it is in Deliverence Ministry. And I feel so blessed for Him to work through me no matter how He chooses to do so.

Isaiah 60:18
No longer will violence be heard in your land,
nor ruin or destruction within your borders,
but you will call your walls Salvation
and your gates Praise.
Brooke F.
Brooke F. from BENTON HARBOR, MI said:
I was quite difficult to choose a verse today. I have a comment for several. I chose this one bc myself & my children have lived with much violence, ruin & destruction in our lives. Every time I tried to better myself and create a future I would be held back, told I would never make it & that I wasn't good enough. And when whenever they would see me doing well they would make it harder & harder for me to follow through and when that would not work they would cut off all support until I would have to quit(ruin & destroy my borders of capability). Yet now, during this time of breaking free I have grown closer & closer to God. Even though I am no longer able to work, due to multiple health issues, I am very blessed and I am much more stronger and capable of achieving my goal that I believe God has created me for.

Yes, Brooke, my story is similar to yours. It wasn't till I went to Be In Health, a 1 week seminar by Dr Henry Wright, that I was finally set free from all that. I'm still walking out of it, not all the way well, yet, but emotionally and most of all spiritually I'm doing MUCH better

Isaiah 59:21
"As for me, this is my covenant with them," says the Lord. "My Spirit, who is on you, will not depart from you, and my words that I have put in your mouth will always be on your lips, on the lips of your children and on the lips of their descendants—from this time on and forever," says the Lord.
Brooke F.
Brooke F. from BENTON HARBOR, MI said:
So why do my children not follow my example? They curse, but I do not. They lie, but I do not. They judge, and I hope I do not. They have hate towards me, but I love them so. If I catch myself doing any of these things I correct myself. I've always supported my children, especially emotionally. I did not grow up with such support, therefore, I make sure they have it. Yet they ignore me, avoid me, etc. I would surely die for them, yet they do not believe that. They choose to follow lies and gossip rather than who they see me to actually be. I hope and pray that they will open up to the Lord for the first time, or for some, open back up to Him. Please join me in praying for my children. I have my 1st grandchild who is less then a month old and I want to be in her life very much! I met her once and fell in love. But her dad, my son, had only known about her for a few days yet treats me like I know nothing about babies and is now shutting me out. :-(

I will pray for you and your family Brooke. I know nothing about parenting but I do know God. The scripture that comes to my mind is Galatians 6:9 - do not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Seems to me that more people say their grandparents had a huge part of their spiritual growth compared to their parents. I pray you will be able to see more of granddaughter and future grandchildren. God bless!

I do understand to a point about this because I have a 14 year old daughter who was once living for the Lord, but has turned her back on Him. She rolls her eyes at me, gets mad at me, and she too has a "mouth problem" as well. I try my best to talk to her and get her to turn her life back over to God, but she has not YET. I pray for her, and I have others praying for her too. We can't give up on them, we have to turn them over to the Lord and let Him have them, and when they are ready for Him, He will have His way with them! I will be praying for you and your family too! I know you are hurting, and I know the Lord is with us Mommies and knows our hearts! He will see us through my friend!! Hang in there and never give up!

The scripture that comes to my mind is Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it. Brooke, I believe Nancy, Donna and Mary have summed it up and there are many parents who go through the same senario, which is very trying but I have to believe that with your example, whether you see it or not, they are under conviction. Keep being the example and give them over to the Lord. He will, eventually, find a way to get their attention. Donna has stated God's position in the matter and sometimes it is difficult to rest in that but we must because it's His promise. Father, I ask You to awaken both Brooke and Mary's families to Your love for them and that You want them to enjoy Your love in obedience to their parents and to You. Lord, I ask You to give Brooke and Mary the perseverance to stand on Your word and believe for the joyous turn around in their families lives. Amen

Something I have learned, Mary, is that we are not to preach to our families. That will push them further away. Especially teens who tend to rebel. Our families learn based on the changes that they see in us. It's a touchy\fine line situation, I know. We want the very best for our children and there is nothing better than God!
Donna N.
Donna N. from Orlando, FL said:
I watched a Christian movie where the son was being rebellious, the parents went into the kids room when he wasn't there and prayed over all his stuff and said God he's yours do with him as You will. God did an amazing thing in the boys life. He ended up in a car accident and survived with only a broken leg, but inured the girl in the other car quite badly. But God used that to bring the boy back to a relationship with God and gave him an amazing spirit of compassion. I'm not saying to pray for tragedy, but give them totally to God and let Him do the work that only He can do. Does that make sense?

All up to them Donna. Only God can work through them in a way that no person can. The greatest thing is to see our children, or anyone for that matter, give themselves over to God. I was able to witness my dad do just that before he passed away. It is one of my best memories ever!

Isaiah 58:11

The Lord IS guiding me and throughout what some could not take, and I could not before in the way that I have been able to now, God has strengthened me more and more. When I am done wrong and hurt I am able to move on with my head held high. Without a heart of bitterness, anger, rage or revenge. Each time I don't know where I am going, but I know that God does. So in the cold, with my daughter at my side, I know God has a plan. A plan for us not to suffer but to grow and strengthen ourselves with Him. I know this because at the times of not knowing, my heart is peaceful. I am so very thankful. I wouldn't change this feeling within me for anything in the world. I love God and the outpouring of joy from my heart! I am free now to read his Word & live for Him.
