Acts 22:14
"Then he said: 'The God of our ancestors has chosen you to know his will and to see the Righteous One and to hear words from his mouth.

Chosen: I love Paul because he always expresses this, that it wasn't HIS idea to follow Christ, in fact, he was utterly opposed to the idea. Ananias confirmed that it was God who chose him, and had a mighty purpose in store for him. If you have been chosen by God, if you believe in his name, YOU have a mighty purpose in store for you. Don't forget that.

Leviticus 1:3
" 'If the offering is a burnt offering from the herd, you are to offer a male without defect. You must present it at the entrance to the tent of meeting so that it will be acceptable to the Lord.

Come to the entrance to the tent of meeting, so that it will be acceptable. Alot of times, and i think its because we know that God "meets us where we are at", we feel like we can bring whatever kind of offering we want, wherever we are at. Communing with God was meant to be intentional. Relationships are meant to be intentional. God wanted the Israelites to bring the offerings before the tent of meeting because that is where GOD was at....They brought their offerings TO HIM.
It is a WONDERFUL display of Love that Jesus came down to us...lived on this earth, and died for our sin. And he rose again and ascended to his Heavenly throne! He is the king. Maybe we should meet him where he is at for a change...bring our offerings before our king, to whom WE SAY we give our lives as living sacrifices (Romans 12:1)

Exodus 30:15
The rich are not to give more than a half shekel and the poor are not to give less when you make the offering to the Lord to atone for your lives.
Cara M. from Madison, OH said:
The atoning sacrifice was to be a ransom for the individuals life - to pay off the debt of sin for the year. This didn't change the status of the heart, God still counted faithfulness from each person. But this was a demonstration that a price MUST be paid for souls, that they should not perish, and that a plague would not come upon them. No soul was worth more than another, no soul was counted as less than any other. They were all equal in the sight of their God who loved them and accepted their offerings.

Exodus 29:44
"So I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar and will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests.
Cara M. from Madison, OH said:
The whole chapter lays out the requirements for consecration to the Lord. Consecration of the priests, the offerings, the regulations, the garments, etc. THEN, He says he will dwell among the Israelites and be their God. I am SO glad that Christ is our great High Priest. The pressure of having these exact specifications must have been enormous. Now, we go through Jesus, being consecrated, set apart, for His use, by the blood of the Lamb. I am grateful and thankful for Jesus, our atoning sacrifice :)
