1 Chronicles 10:13
Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord; he did not keep the word of the Lord and even consulted a medium for guidance,

These last couple of verses (13-14) really speak out, and God never changes. If we receive and believe in our Savior Jesus Christ, it is wise for us to stand firm and follow His direction and not turn to false gods, or, things of the world but stand firm in our faith that God is with us. We see how Saul failed to trust in God and went to a medium for guidance, which cost him his life. Psa 91:1  He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall rest under the shadow of the Almighty.

Amen Lloyd Amen, we both chose different verses but came up with the same conclusion. He died for his transgression's by disobeying Gods word, and resorted to seeking counsel elsewhere. As he rejected God's word, God rejected him as king. Blessings as we prepare for the Lord's day/every day is The Lord's Day. Sunny today 50+ degrees, continue to be safe, God is in control.

Saul was warned by God and instead of obeying he hardened his heart against the Lord. If he had only listened and repented of his sins his outcome could have been far different. We all know people like Saul who refuse to listen and repent. We need to continue to pray for as long as there is breath there is hope their hearts still could change before it's too late.

Oh so true, Terry. I continually pray that Holy Spirit will bring revelation to those who have yet to receive Christ and His grace, whether through me, someone else, or, even by dream or vision. God bless you, Terry.

If Saul had sought to have a personal relationship with God himself instead of connecting with God through others when he was in distress he would have felt and understood the direction God wanted his life to go. Lesson one don't wait till you are in the middle of a mess before you seek God and a relationship with him. Daily build your relationship. Lesson two do it yourself no one can build a relationship with God for you. It has to be personal one on one you and God.

the life of Saul is very sad. he tasted what it was like to have the power of God upon him -- at one point the Spirit came upon him and he prophesied, but he lost his way. -- 1Sa 10:9 And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day. 1Sa 10:10 And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them. -- but it is a warning for us.

Do not seek advice from medium or spiritists or fortune teller or witches or whatever sources that the Lord forbids us from seeking. The Lord clearly forbids us from seeking them for advice; for why would we, the living, seek guidance from the dead. I remember one time as I was walking in the mall, a woman walked by me and gave me a flyer and asked me if I wanted to hear her fortune telling. I immediately told her no and handed back her flyer. I know what the Lord likes and dislikes. He likes it when His children love each other, when we treat each other with love and kindness, and also when we obey His commands and put Him first and so on; but He dislikes idols, haughtiness, slander, debauchery, sexual immorality and so on. We must learn to be like Esther and learn to know what the king desires and do what pleases him. We must please God, our King. David understood this well so he sought the Lord and seek after His heart.

Even though God put His spirit on him and anointed him for the role of king, Saul ultimately disobeyed and didn't "walk in the spirit" and became carnal. He certainly messed up and it cost him his life. I don't think we will be seeing him in our New Jerusalem when Jesus returns to set up His kingdom.

This verse reminds us that it is important to seek the Lord in our decisions. We see so many people today seeking mediums (fortune tellers) who are agents of Satan to lead these people down the wrong trail to their destruction. This is what Saul did, leading to his destruction. Help us, Lord to remember that You alone are the faithful one who will not lead us in the wrong direction. Amen

Saul could have had eternal life. He chose otherwise to disobey the Lord. And do his own will, instead of God's will. And consult a sorcerer to help him instead f Looking to God.To me NOW This verse speaks volumes to me. You need to obey the Lord and heed his words.

That's so sad. Saul died because he did not obey the Word of the Lord. Saul was unfaithful to the One who is always faithful, God Himself. Saul did not go to the one who gives life for advice, the Lord God, but instead went to a woman who talked to the spirits of the dead for advice. God would not allow this. He deserves faithfulness from His people. Unfaithfulness to God caused King Saul to be killed and his kingdom given to David. May we always be faithful to the Lord, no matter what the cost. He rewards everyone who loves and serves Him. Amen!

Yes, Ruth, it's sad when they start well, but don't end well. They end up being remembered only for the negative and none of the positive. Like Samson. He ruled as a judge for 40 yrs, yet all we remember about him is his, escapade with Delilah
