Romans 4:21
being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.
Bill B.
Bill B. from Port St Lucie, FL said:
Abraham never doubted that God would fulfill his promise. His life was marked by mistakes, sins, and failures as well as by wisdom and goodness, but he consistently trust God. Abraham's life is an example of faith in action. He honored God with his faith and God honored him with righteousness.

Amen, Bill. It is hard to imagine what Abraham went through, when instructed to sacrifice his own son. Another first hand example of what God did for us, through Jesus.. God bless.

1 Kings 19:21
So Elisha left him and went back. He took his yoke of oxen and slaughtered them. He burned the plowing equipment to cook the meat and gave it to the people, and they ate. Then he set out to follow Elijah and became his servant.

Bill B. from Port St Lucie, FL said:
Elisha was making a strong commitment to follow Elijah. By slaughtering his oxen, he could no longer return to his life as a wealthy farmer. The meal was an offering of thanks, as Elisha surrendered his will and his life to God.

Romans 3:28
For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
Bill B.
Bill B. from Port St Lucie, FL said:
Faith exalts what God has done, while nullifying the pride of human effort. Faith admits that we are powerless over the sin in our lives. Faith is based on our relationship with God, not our performance for God.

You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.

Bill B. from Port St Lucie, FL said:
When I stand in judgement of someone else's actions, I open myself up for God's judgement, which is based on the truth of not just my actions, but also my motives.

Romans 1:21
For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.
Bill B.
Bill B. from Port St Lucie, FL said:
When we claim to know God, yet continue to live like the rest of the world (neither glorifying Him in our actions or acknowledging His provision in our lives) we become lost and begin to trust in the wisdom of this world systems which is foolishness in God's sight.

Amen, Bill. I just finished reading the most recent book by John Bevere, entitled, "Good or God" which addresses this subject so very well. I got the set through Sid Roth, which includes the book, as well as the DVD and CD series on the teaching. God bless, Bill.

1 Kings 12:8
But Rehoboam rejected the advice the elders gave him and consulted the young men who had grown up with him and were serving him.
Bill B.
Bill B. from Port St Lucie, FL said:
"It is of great consequence to young people, that are setting out in the world, whom they associate with, accommodate themselves to, and depend upon for advice. If they reckon those that feed their pride, gratify their vanity, and further them in their pleasures, their best friends, they are already marked for ruin." (Matthew Henry Commentary) We need to carefully weigh the counsel we receive, asking God for wisdom. If Rehoboam had done so, he would have seen that the advice of his peers was foolish and selfish.
