Romans 3:28
For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

Faith exalts what God has done, while nullifying the pride of human effort. Faith admits that we are powerless over the sin in our lives. Faith is based on our relationship with God, not our performance for God.

this is truly good news. this verse truly shows the grace and mercy of God. if we just believe and trust Him to deliver us into the place of rest, to perfect us, He will do the work through the Holy Spirit within us. we must "lie down" submissively and allow God to do this great work of removing the dirt and muck from our hearts as He restores us to the glory He gave us in the Garden of Eden. Thank You Father for all that You do for us every second of the day, through the precious blood of Jesus. Amen.

Amen, Veronica. His grace is His empowerment given to us, to walk in holiness as we receive Jesus as our Savior. God bless you sister.

Faith is the key word in our salvation, faith in Jesus Christ. Many religions demand works for salvation. May I ask,how much works are needed? Ephesians2:8-10 is very clear.Through faith, not by works. We are created in Christ Jesus to do good works after we have had our relationship with Jesus. If we had to do good works to earn our relationship with Jesus we would mess that up as much as we have messed up our own lives.Romans3-10 tells us There is no one righteous, not even one. Thank you Jesus for giving us the faith to trust you.

Excellent point Don. Living in a city with over 8 million people and so many religions, I too, use this verse (and others) to explain the power of faith. Some who know (or may be a little familiar with a bible) will say: "not true - you must do works - because in James 2:20 it says that "faith without works is dead!" If this ever happens to you, just slow them down and say: "let's look at that more carefully. It is true, if I don't do works my "faith" is dead - however, did I lose my salvation? Not at all. Our faith is dead, not our salvation. We do good works BECAUSE of our faith, we don't justifiy or faith by doing good works. Many religions have this backwords. I didn't understand it either unitl it was explained to me in this way.
