We must find a few people in our lives that we really really trust. Godly friends that we can ask for advice when we need council and actually ponder the advice. It seems like Rehoboam didn't really want advice he simply wanted agreement for what he was doing though.

We need to carefully weigh the counsel we receive, asking God for wisdom. If Rehoboam had done so, he would have seen that the advice of his peers was foolish and selfish.
