Numbers 20:12
But the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, "Because you did not trust in me enough to honor me as holy in the sight of the Israelites, you will not bring this community into the land I give them."

Wow what a chapter... 1 short line = Miriam died. It ends with Aaron dying with a 30 day mourning... But WOW God really means what He says! "Speak to the rock" ... Moses in his fit of understandable anger strikes it and it loses it's "type" The people still get their water but Moses gets to "see only" the Promised Land. Our God says what He means and means what He says!

"This is the law that applies when a person dies in a tent: Anyone who enters the tent and anyone who is in it will be unclean for seven days,

GOd teaches His people to beware of germs before they were aware of germs. He indicates that sin is like disease and needs to be dealt with ceremonially. We have Christ as our way of purification.
1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Our God is a holy and awesome God to provide all that for us.

Numbers 18:26
"Speak to the Levites and say to them: 'When you receive from the Israelites the tithe I give you as your inheritance, you must present a tenth of that tithe as the Lord 's offering.
Robert W. from London, ON said:
Interesting, even levites, who received tithes, need to pay tithes, which God then used to support the Priests.
God has neat plans, and ways.
He takes care of all His people!

Numbers 12:8
With him I speak face to face,
clearly and not in riddles;
he sees the form of the Lord.
Why then were you not afraid
to speak against my servant Moses?"

What a testimony Moses had with God vs 3 (Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.) and God says He speaks face to face.
We have such free access to God according to Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
But we will get to see Him face to face only in the future. "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known." I Corinthians 13:12
With Christ's declared righteousness given to us God has a high opinion of us (because of that righteousness) but oh how great if it were all practically worked out in our lives.
What an awesome God we have here and now!!
I think another point to learn is how we ought to respect our Pastors who ... as they follow Christ we should follow them.

Numbers 11:23
The Lord answered Moses, "Is the Lord 's arm too short? Now you will see whether or not what I say will come true for you."
Robert W. from London, ON said:
Moses was very distraught with the people because of their grumblings. He took it personal. But it was not his burden to bear it was the Lord's and He took care of it. Also note God deals with His people in His own way. When we cast our burdens on the Lord, we need to leave them there. Many time we take them to God, show Him, then take them back. We need to trust God with our problems and when He solves them make sure He gets the glory.

Numbers 10:29
Now Moses said to Hobab son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses' father-in-law, "We are setting out for the place about which the Lord said, 'I will give it to you.' Come with us and we will treat you well, for the Lord has promised good things to Israel."
Robert W. from London, ON said:
Even Moses had to convince his family to go with them to the promise land. They were reluctant at first but did go with them. They were blessed because they followed the LORD.
We should not give up on our family members.

Numbers 7:89
When Moses entered the tent of meeting to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the atonement cover on the ark of the covenant law. In this way the Lord spoke to him.

I had forgotten how this was done. It is good to reread the Scriptures. Aren't you glad the God of creation spoke and interacted with us humans.
