About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.

I am in awe of Paul and Silas that, through their faith and love for Jesus and the gospel, they still prayed, praised and worshipped God; and preached the Gospel to anyone who would listen. Even the prisoners and jailers were listening. Never stop sharing the word, someone listening needs to hear!

This 'walk' with God is no cakewalk, it is rife with pitfalls and traps and snares that will boggle the imagination. Jesus is real, God is the real and our adversary the devil is real and a force to be reckoned with!!! We too need to strengthen each other with encouragement and edification and a true passion for the One who made the Kingdom of God our future home.

Thank God for answered prayers! Prayer is so very important to us Christians. The Word tells us to pray without ceasing, and with pray and supplication to let our request be made known. Where any two agree as touching anything they ask shall be done. What more can I say? PRAY!!!

When we as a prosperous nation question whether we are the ones to send help through missions when disasters occur, we need to remember this verse of scripture. The apostles (disciples); which we are if we indeed follow Jesus; set an example for us to follow. Thank You Jesus for extending Your grace and mercy and offer of salvation to me a sinner.

The church is still being persecuted to this day and we will have to be true apostles in order to stand fast and persevere. Surrendering ourselves totally to the Lord is a must. As frightening as it seems to release control of our lives to the Lord, we must do it afraid, trusting that He is who He says He is and that He is able to do what He says He will do. Have Faith in God!

To me this verse is a reminder that our lives are not our own; that we are brought with a great price and that unless we believe in the Lord Jesus and His resurrection and love, we perish without hope of a home in Heaven. Lord, I pray that my life be pleasing to You and a true testimony of Your love in my life that You may receive my spirit where You are. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
