The disciples, as each one was able, decided to provide help for the brothers and sisters living in Judea.

When we as a prosperous nation question whether we are the ones to send help through missions when disasters occur, we need to remember this verse of scripture. The apostles (disciples); which we are if we indeed follow Jesus; set an example for us to follow. Thank You Jesus for extending Your grace and mercy and offer of salvation to me a sinner.

Vs29 and 30 = God's love in action through His people to His people. We are the answer to someone's prayers and needs.

Right at the start the believers acted as a family, not just with their fellow believers in their local community but on a more global scale. They helped each other out as 'they were able'. To me this says we should be helping our brothers and sisters across the world, and not just focus on our local community.
