Acts 14:22
strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith. "We must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of God," they said.
Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
"Many hardships to enter the Kingdom of God." When life gets hard in our walk with the Lord, God gives us great reason to rejoice, to follow His word, and to seek the rest that we need in Jesus, and to remain true to the Faith. And as Christians stay true to the word of God in a changing world.

Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Well expressed,Peter. The Lord and Paul told us that there would be trials and tribulations but to stand firm in the faith, and trust in Him. Eph 3:13  For this reason I desire that you faint not at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. 2Thess 1:4  so much so that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God, for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations which you endure. Be blessed, Peter, as we await His glory to come upon us, the body of Christ.

Paul and Barnabas were encourging the newly formed church of Jesus Christ. Even though Paul was just beaten and left for dead. Paul still preached the Gospel as he was called to do. This is an example for us today. We will receive opposition and will be hated for preaching the word but we are ambassadors for Christ. Preach the word in season and out of season. We are called to encourage others to stand firm and remain true to the Gospel because that's the only thing that will save someone's soul.

As believers we will face many trials and be ridiculed but we have to remain strong in our faith and know, God is always beside us. We must always lift each other up and continue to encourage each other.

the path of the saint is not an easy one. Christ warned us that he was mistreated so his followers would be also. This is what angers me about the "health and wealth" preachers. They feed on the downtrodden. They give them false hopes and it's only to get their money. Instead we should be encouraging each other with the truth, because there is a peace that passes all understanding, found only in Christ, to carry us through the storms and trials that must surely come to pass in our lives because we live in a fallen world.

Yes, Maggie, and I have personally experienced that "peace that passes understanding". 24 years ago I lost a foot to diabetic complications and I was an active outdoors man and I knew it would be a most difficult change for me. I called my pastor who has gone home now and he prayed for me. Within half an hour all fear was gone. When they wheeled me into the operating room, I had no more fear than I would going into a coffee shop for a coffee. God gave me total peace. Even my pastor was amazed at my response afterwards. I give all credit to God.

This verse jumped off the page at me as I read this chapter as it is so very true of the many hardships that we go through to enter the Kingdom of God.....many people I have come in contact with believe that the Kingdom of God is only reached once we pass on to the next life...how sad is that to think that the only way that they think they can come into contact with the Kingdom is in their passing, when in all reality, the Kingdom comes to them in ways that they do not even see....sure there are hardships....that comes with many phases of our lives, but once we enter the Kingdom of God, we have Jesus walking each step with us....helping us with our hardships and challenges, making those mountains move so that our path is less rocky and we can see our destination unobstructed.....we are of God's kingdom......we are citizens and children of the living God.

And amen. I believe we are soon to see an awakening of the church as a whole, as it has for the most part, been asleep too long. God has to rally the church first, before the world will have a chance to wake up. God bless you William and Maggie.

v23 "And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed." Amen. In todays instant gratification, throw away society, one does not see mending and fixing much. The patience and perseverance it takes to restore to a workable condition, a used item, can teach much.

This 'walk' with God is no cakewalk, it is rife with pitfalls and traps and snares that will boggle the imagination. Jesus is real, God is the real and our adversary the devil is real and a force to be reckoned with!!! We too need to strengthen each other with encouragement and edification and a true passion for the One who made the Kingdom of God our future home.

If we haven't, Linda, I believe we will in the very near future. I look at what's happening in your great country right now, and sadly most are looking for a politucal solution when only a spiritual solution can repair what's happening. Things are changing dramatically and I believe that only one thing can possibly turn that around and it should have happened right after 9/11 but it didn't. I believe the ONLY hope is that the body of Christ comes together in unity and applies 2 Chronicles 7:14. My wife and I pray for America every day and we pray into that verse. The entire world will be affected by the impact. We have several friends in America and we hurt for them. Have you read Messianic Rabbi, Jonathan Cahn's book "The Harbinger" You can watch an overview of it on this program that took place in February of this year. http://www.sidroth.org/site/News2?abbr=tv_&page=NewsArticle&id=10937 God bless you Linda.
