Exodus 32:1
When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, "Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don't know what has happened to him."

The people did not have trust Moses so they felt since he was gone and they did not know where he was they could make an idol to worship. Little did they know that Moses was a man after God's heart and the ones who disobeyed would be blotted out of the book of life. God struck them with a plague.

It appears to me, could be wrong, that those who chose not to, in appearance, repent and come to Moses' side were slain (3,000) and a plague came upon those who did, as a consequence for their sin. Just my thoughts.

Exodus 31:13
"Say to the Israelites, 'You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy.

Everyone must set aside the Sabbath day to praise and worship God. It Is a holy covenant sign that was given by God that we work six days and rest on the seventh day to kiow he is God and he is holy. If God is holy when we serve him he makes us holy. When we rest our mind it becomes clear and renewed and not cloudy and foggy.

Exodus 30:10
Once a year Aaron shall make atonement on its horns. This annual atonement must be made with the blood of the atoning sin offering for the generations to come. It is most holy to the Lord."

Aaron was to make atonement for the people every year as a sin offering for generations to come. In our day and time "Atonement" mean to consecrate ourselves one on one with Almighty God. Jesus made a covenant with us through the shedding of his blood on calvary. When we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior we were redeemed and sanctified. Atonement is a High Holy Day and we must come to God in spirit and truth, fasting, praising and praying on that day. Praise God and remember Jesus is Lord. Amen!

Exodus 29:1
"This is what you are to do to consecrate them, so they may serve me as priests: Take a young bull and two rams without defect.

To consecrate mean to serarate from everyone else and everything else like the tv and radio, only to God and his word.. During January we consetrate ourselves and fast, pray and worship for 21 days and go to the church for one hour to thank God for what he has done, is doing and will be doing forever. In our day we give an offering to God. As you concetrate yourself you are able to hear from God and his spirit.
