Exodus 32:1
When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, "Come, make us gods who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don't know what has happened to him."

In Exodus 24, the people all agreed to do whatever the LORD says, but after their leader, Moses, went up to the mountain for 40 days and forty nights, they became disoriented and rebelled. They turned away from the LORD and seek false idols and forgot what the LORD had done for them in Egypt. In the same way, let us stand firm in our faith even in times of persecution. Let's remember the times before when God delivered us from trouble. Remember not to seek God only for his blessings but for his righteousness and He will bless you with the truth, and the truth will set you free.

The people did not have trust Moses so they felt since he was gone and they did not know where he was they could make an idol to worship. Little did they know that Moses was a man after God's heart and the ones who disobeyed would be blotted out of the book of life. God struck them with a plague.

We, as believer's, are always impatient for God to do for us in our time. We must learn to "wait" on God for His perfect timing!!!!

All I can say is: These people had put their faith and trust in Moses - not in the Lord. They did not know what to do if Moses was not around - and so now, they think they need a god to lead them. It is too bad that they could not talk to God themselves.
We were seeing last night at church, how Jesus showed the people of His day - to pray to "Our Father" which art in Heaven. They may not have thought of Him as our Father before - making it much easier to go to the Lord, and talk to Him - as we know that we can do.

Like Saul, the people got tired of waiting on God to do what He promised. They decided to do what seemed right to THEM instead. Faith means WAITING. You KNOW that God is faithful to do what He said He'd do. It may not be in YOUR timing, but it will be in the BEST timing. Trust in the Lord. He knows better than you do.

God bless you all. Well what I understand from this verse is that God's people never had their eyes focused on God because they had their eyes focused on Moses and in doing so, they started to worship the false idol that they asked Aaron to make. We need to understand and learn to keep our eyes focused on Jesus Christ at all times. When we go to church it should be for Jesus, when we fast it should be for Jesus, when we pray it should be to the Holy Father in the name of Jesus, when we read Scriptures it should be for Jesus. God never fails us, but man does. Pastors should be respected as well as leaders of the church, but the one we need to focus at all times is on God because if the leader or the pastor ever decided to move on to better things for the Lord.....and God said it is time to move on...we must maintain ourselves in the church and not leave or follow man because the one who died for us is Jesus Christ and the one who is coming back to get the church is Jesus Christ. Stay focused on Jesus and not on the man of God...because in the long run...man can not save you "I am the truth, the way, the life and no one goes to the Father but through me."
God bless you all
