I believe that when ever a person works 6 days that the seventh is a day of rest and for me and our family we try to keep sunday as our day of rest and worship.

GOD is so awesome,He requests us to do things giving the very gifts we need to accomplish the tasks HE wants, all we need to do is have eyes to see and ears to hear HIS requests.Observing the Sabbath is one way of sharpening those skills.

Everyone must set aside the Sabbath day to praise and worship God. It Is a holy covenant sign that was given by God that we work six days and rest on the seventh day to kiow he is God and he is holy. If God is holy when we serve him he makes us holy. When we rest our mind it becomes clear and renewed and not cloudy and foggy.

Wouldn't it be something if we still held the sabbath as a holy day. Maybe thats where we make our biggest mistake. We are so money enabled that we forget that what we recieve in life comes from the All Mighty God, not from the work that we do. Not that 56 hour paycheck. As a new christian I am still learning all this and beginning to understand why the world is in the mess it is in. Everything that God laid down for us to follow we have thrown to the side, and if we would just do our works for the Glory of God and give him the respect and honor due then things would be so much simpler and he would find so much more favor in us.

It is a day of rest for God and man! God set us a positive example by taking extra pains to set aside this special space of time — holy to Him — as His time, belonging to Him, It was so important to Him that He set it up as a special sign to man, to be observed throughout his generations.

We all His people. We must follow His rules and worship Him.

This verse, and the ones following, are a good reminder to me. We have a home business - and animals to care for, which of course they need to be taken care of - but God wants us to have a day of rest from our labor. A day to enjoy His blessings to us - and to know that He made us and refreshes us. Thank You Lord, Please help me to do this.

God told them to rest on the Sabbath as a sign for generation's to come so we may know He is Lord and that it is HE who makes us holy.

I think this is important, because so many of us in our fast-paced, technologically advanced lifestyles have forgotten that we are to work 6 days and rest on the 7th, we are to set aside one day per week to spend with God at HIS house. I hear of so many people not even giving the Sabbath a second thought these days. In fact, our society as a whole, like the foolish generations of Israelites, seem to have forgotten God and His instructions to us. I believe this applies as much today as it did when God said it. This is also a stark reminder that we are not put on this earth to glorify, please, worship, or have a relationship with any other God. HE is the one who makes us holy, HE is the one who is perfect, HE is the one who sent His only begotten Son to die for us, HE is the one who initiated a relationship with us at the very beginning of time, HE is the one who created us...it's so sad that people forget that.

We all need times of rest and refreshing in our lives. The Sabbath is a day of renewal in the ways of the Lord. A time to meditate upon His Word and be reminded that we are set apart for Him.
