2 Kings 14:27
And since the Lord had not said he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam son of Jehoash.

God has promised His people salvation; He will never leave or forsake those who call upon His name with a pure hearth, neither will He will despise us. In this instant, He saved them by the hand of Jeroboam king of Israel, son of Jehoash. Now we have Jesus, His glorified Son to watch over us! Alleluia!

But the Lord was gracious to them and had compassion and showed concern for them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. To this day he has been unwilling to destroy them or banish them from his presence.

Oh how great is God's love for His people! He has made a covenant with His people that He cannot break no matter how far we stray away from Him, He will bring us back to Himself! LORD open our eyes that we may see the depth of your eternal Love and repent and turn back to you!

But Joash king of Judah took all the sacred objects dedicated by his predecessors—Jehoshaphat, Jehoram and Ahaziah, the kings of Judah—and the gifts he himself had dedicated and all the gold found in the treasuries of the temple of the Lord and of the royal palace, and he sent them to Hazael king of Aram, who then withdrew from Jerusalem.

Joash king of Judah was willing to sacrifice all the material possessions of temple of the Lord in order to preserve it. King Joash was committed to doing right in the eyes of the Lord. He was committed to God not to things. The temple of the Lord was to be preserved at all cost. If our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, aren't we to do the same. "Mar 8:36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul"?

The Lord said to Jehu, "Because you have done well in accomplishing what is right in my eyes and have done to the house of Ahab all I had in mind to do, your descendants will sit on the throne of Israel to the fourth generation."

This verse confirms that the Lord truly reward his servants for faithfulness and obedience to His Word ; those who discern His thoughts and obey them; those who do what is right in His eyes. The righteousness of God prevails!

They went back and told Jehu, who said, "This is the word of the Lord that he spoke through his servant Elijah the Tishbite: On the plot of ground at Jezreel dogs will devour Jezebel's flesh.

Of a truth, this verse confirms the truth of God's word as spoken by the prophet Elijah coming to pass. God hates evil and His judgement as foretold by His prophets wil destroy all evil from His creation!

So he went down and dipped himself in the Jordan seven times, as the man of God had told him, and his flesh was restored and became clean like that of a young boy.

Naaman's obedience to the prophet Elisha's command was rewarded by his deliverance from leprosy. This act of obedience confirms the Scripture that "obedience is better than sacrifice". With all the riches that Naaman offered, they were insufficient for his deliverance. Only God can bring true deliverance to our most intrinsic need.
