But the Lord was gracious to them and had compassion and showed concern for them because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. To this day he has been unwilling to destroy them or banish them from his presence.

He is such a patient God, giving us numerous chances to follow Him before His judgement. He's shown that throughout the Old Testament so far and still does likewise today under the new covenant. Thank You, Lord for Your patience with us.
