Isaiah 28:16
So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: "See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone,
a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation;
the one who relies on it
will never be stricken with panic.

the one who relies on it
will never be stricken with panic.

Our precious cornerstone for a sure foundation is Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 2:20) The one who puts his faith in Him will not be shaken!

Once again in this verse, it's prophesied that Christ, the corner stone, would be there in Zion for any and all who count on Him as their foundation. Thank You Abba, that You did send our "Corner Stone" that those who rely on Him can rest assured. Holy Spirit, awaken those who do not know and trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and we know there are millions upon millions who do not yet know. Amen

The true and tested stone that Father God laid for us was and is His precious Son, Jesus Christ. Our Lord and Savior is the keystone, the chief cornerstone upon which we lay the foundation to a life that will stand the test of time. When we build our temple upon the rock it will be able to weather any storm.

This stone is Jesus our Messiah. He's our solid foundation. Nothing can be built without a solid foundation. Jesus said in Matt 7 that if we hear and heed His words, it's like building our house on a solid foundation. When the winds and rain of life beat and blow, we/it will remain standing. But, if we hear and don't heed His words, it's like building our house on sand. When the winds and rain of life beat and blow, we/it will surely fall.
Our Messiah was tried, tested, and proven to be the glorious, obedient Son of God in all things, making Him and Him alone worthy of being our precious cornerstone.
Since the cornerstone is straight and true, if everything in the entire building lines up with the cornerstone, we have a sure foundation. Also, anything we add on to our house that's not built upon the foundation, is sure to end up in the wreckage as well.
God's work in our life is like the work of a farmer. A farmer knows just how much to plow, when to level the ground, when to plant, what to plant and where. He uses different tools at different times, and works them all together to produce the right crops at the right time. God knows what instruments to use in our life, and when to use them. He's an expert farmer, and we can trust that He's working on us with all His wisdom.
Thank You Papa God, that You're still working on me. Making me what I need to be It took You just a week to make the moon and stars The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars How loving and patient You must be 'Cause You're still workin' on me.

Hi SJ buddies - a little bit of an update. I haven't left you or the Word in these last 20 or so days. I mentioned I was taken 3 seminary courses 1 which has us reading the entire Bible as carefully as possible (but quickly). We have finished the OT and I am currently reading the New Testament epistles in the order they were written - e.g. James, Galatians, 1&2 Thessalonians, 1&2 Corinthians, Romans, Philemon, Colossians, Ephesians, Philippians, 1 Timothy, Titus, 1 Peter, 2 Timothy, 2 Peter, Hebrews, Jude, John, 1,2,3 John, Revelation. Have already read the Gospels and Acts. Who's our cornerstone mentioned in this passage? Answer: Jesus!
Please pray for me as I complete this semester of courses. 2 more big papers to start and finish, 5 more weekly reflection (shorter) papers, weekly group online discussions, one message to give on John 15 - I am the Vine (Nov 30), one Bible Study to prepare (Ephesians) by Dec 8 plus my Small Group coordination responsibilities getting ready for January to June. Lots of work but feeling blessed as I get to know Him even more. Need wisdom and ability to use time wisely. Also pray that I don't get sick, which can make things difficult. Thank you and may He bless you in all you do as you serve Him day by day.
