2 Kings 21:6
He sacrificed his own son in the fire, practiced divination, sought omens, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the eyes of the Lord, arousing his anger.

Once again, it is hard to imagine a father sacrificing his own son in the fire, as well as practicing all the things that displeased the Lord. Obviously those who left him as king were not much better. It is also amazing that the Lord allowed him to reign for 55 years but he surely would not be in a good place when facing the judgment of God. Lord, help me/us as believers turn my/our backs upon You as Manasseh did. Amen

Whatever you do, do not purposely rebel against the Lord. Manasseh broke every command the Lord had given to Moses and the Israelites. Even in your anger, do not sin, especially do not purposely try to sin against the Lord. From learning the history of Israel and Judah, I learn an important lesson that those who love the Lord and follow his commands receive a full measure of His blessing, but those who rebelled against the Lord and follow useless idols and do wicked things brought destruction upon themselves.
