Acts 2:38
Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Acts 1:3
After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.

There is no doubt that Jesus rose from the dead. It is both a matter of faith as well as a matter of history. He is risen! We serve a risen Savior!

Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

In eternity I guess we will get to hear about all of the other things that Jesus did in His three yrs. of ministry. I like vs 7 a lot also as it shows us that John quickly realized that it was Jesus once he saw how many fish were caught when Jesus said to throw the net on the other side. He knew this was a supernatural act which only Jesus could do. Peter was so happy to see Jesus that he couldn't wait for the boat, he jumped in and swam to Jesus. Also like vs 12 where Jesus tells the disciples to have some breakfast (now we know that breakfast may indeed be the most important meal of the day), Jesus continued to provide for the needs of the disciples.

Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!"

Thomas is declaring to us that Jesus is God! Though Thomas doubted Jesus' resurrection, he made a mighty statement once he saw Jesus. He helps us to understand that Jesus was fully man and He was fully God. Members of Jehovah's Witnesses have a tough time with this verse as they don't believe that Jesus is God.

and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

As Jesus was dying, He made provision for His mother through John, and thus the care of Mary became John's responsibility. As He was bearing the sin of the world, Jesus still took care of His mother. What a Savior! And then Jesus completed His mission just as He said in Mt. 20:28 that He came to "give His life a ransom for many."

Eternal life only comes through the Lord Jesus. We access our Heavenly Father thru Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5 says, "For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

Oh to be a friend of God, the maker of heaven and earth. For Jesus to call His followers friends shows the kind of relationship that He wants to have with us. The song "Friend of God" has the following lyrics:
I am a friend of God,
He calls me friend. and
God Almighty, Lord of Glory
You have called me Friend.

Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

I think this may be the most powerful verse in the Bible. It has it all. Jesus tells us that He is the only way to the Father. This is the essence of truth, and Jesus is the only way that we gain abundant life as well as eternal life.
