It serves as a warning, that we need to stay faithful to God. He will never stop loving us, but will use discipline to bring us back into a place of worship.

What a great statement. This should be all of our desires. Pray that I see the oportunities that God puts before me to share Him with others.

And I will live among the Israelites and will not abandon my people Israel."
Edward V. from Somewhere said:
It is comforting to know that God will keep his promises. He will always remain faithful to what He says He will do. The Israelites were a people, much like myself, who saw God do amazing things and then forgot about them. Even though they were constantly not living up to there end of the bargain, God remained faithful to them and showed them amazing patience.
He did judge them and discipline them from time to time, but His love for them was always there and He keeps his promises.

But now the Lord my God has given me rest on every side, and there is no adversary or disaster.

I look forward to the time in my own life that this will be true. Life can be a struggle and it will be nice when the struggle is over and I can spend all of eternity with my savior. It is great that God has promised to be with us during our journey here on earth to help us through this life.

God gave Solomon wisdom and very great insight, and a breadth of understanding as measureless as the sand on the seashore.

God was the source of Solomon's wisdom. All of his success both intellectually and financially were due to the fact that God had granted these things to him. In our own lives we need to remember that our successes need to be credited to God. God allows all things and will work through all things for his purposes.
