He did not discriminate between us and them, for he purified their hearts by faith.

There is one way to the Father and that is Jesus Christ. He is the only way. God makes no distinction between believing Jews or Gentiles. All are accepted by faith through the grace of God. Christ makes us clean through His blood.

Paul and Barnabas were encourging the newly formed church of Jesus Christ. Even though Paul was just beaten and left for dead. Paul still preached the Gospel as he was called to do. This is an example for us today. We will receive opposition and will be hated for preaching the word but we are ambassadors for Christ. Preach the word in season and out of season. We are called to encourage others to stand firm and remain true to the Gospel because that's the only thing that will save someone's soul.

When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were appointed for eternal life believed.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. Despite the Jews jealously and envy of Paul and Barnabas of preaching the word of God the Gentiles accepted Christ. When the unadulterated word of God is preached there will be a reaction good or bad the true word of God cuts to the heart and shows how far you are from God. God does the choosing that is what the word appointed comes from. God chooses who will be saved and it's up to us to accept. Paul and Barnabas were vessels being used by God.

Despite the people of God were being murdered and persecuted and jailed the word of God still spreaded. People were hearing the Gospel. We need to stay obedient to God and preach the Gospel were ever we are.
