Genesis 38:26
Judah recognized them and said, "She is more righteous than I, since I wouldn't give her to my son Shelah." And he did not sleep with her again.

Two things come to mind as I read Chapter 38 of Genesis.
1.) Promises must be kept always. Judah had promised Tamar that she would be given as a wife to his third son, however this promise was not kept. The Bible does not give us a reason as to why the promise was not kept, but I can only guess that Judah was grief stricken with the loss of two children and his wife. Tamar knowing that she needed a child to hae any value in society did what needed to be done.
2.) I love how the Bible does not deny the wrongdoings of the people. Judah laid with whom he believed to be a prostitute, yet the Bible does not judge him for it. It seems matter of factly that a man will reach out to a man to satisfy the most basic need: sex. It also shows to me that in that culture women were not valued.
Interesting reading today! Praise God for His word.

Genesis 37:28
So when the Midianite merchants came by, his brothers pulled Joseph up out of the cistern and sold him for twenty shekels of silver to the Ishmaelites, who took him to Egypt.

It is surprising to me that the Bible does not describe Joseph's response to his brother's actions. I believe that his response must have been like Jesus' at the cross. We usually do not respond quietly to agression or transgression. Maybe here is a lesson to be learned.

Exodus 29:44
"So I will consecrate the tent of meeting and the altar and will consecrate Aaron and his sons to serve me as priests.
Roxy A. from Jefferson City, MO said:
What can I do to consecrate my home, myself and my children to be priests of the Lord? This is important and urgent! The Bible tells me that everyone of us is a priest of God, so I want to be a priest for God, not because I have, but because I want to!
