Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
Key word Help: David is dependent on God so he is seeking God's help. We as a believer when we ask God for help we need to believe in the power of Prayer God has promised to answer prayer. John 15:7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever wish, and it will be done for you. God Keeps His Word

This verse reminds me of how things aren't the way they used to be. Meaning nobody is perfect. You go through life trying to figure out what is so kind to me, what is so faithful to me. Who is it because in the mist of storms there is still that silver lining that called strength to pull you through. But I always asked who is responsible and been being faithful to me. Then you find out it's god. And simply say, "(oh.... God has a plan for me ). This verse let's me know who's in control.

This opening statement seems so true at times, and I'm sure it's even worse today than it was in David's day but there are still faithful, loyal people, even though it seems the deceitful stand out more than the faithful. Lord, help those who are faithful, especially to You, to stand out more clearly than those who deceive, that they may be an example to those who deceive. Amen

Lloyd, we like to think man is so "evolved and sophisticated" In these "enlightened" times, but the more things change, the more they seem to stay the same. Back then they called it child sacrifice, today we call it abortion. Back then they called it adultery today we call it moral failure. Back then they called it sodomy, today we call it an alternative lifestyle. Back then they called them heathens today we call them Muslims. And while I'm on my soapbox, I've NEVER seen a black or white person. We're all unique and wonderful shades of Brown. Some, like me, are cream with an ever so slight drop off coffee and others are dark roasted espresso. But we're ALL beautiful in our Fathers loving eyes.

You have such a great ability of expressing things the way they are, Donna. God bless you.

i like your prayer Lloyd, we believers should outshine everyone else. So true Donna. Moral failure sounds so much nicer especially if it was a pastor. As for color, we all have different fingerprints, different eyes, different veins and different dna. God made us unique but we put ourselves in groups by color shades.

When I was young I couldn't believe all of the churches, you could walk in a church anytime day or night, now so many are closing all the time. If you don't get to church at a certain time, forget it you have to wait until another time, What happen ? I think that its because people stopped believing, economy, so may have just moved on and so many robberies and other sinful things. It is so sad. So many have been shunned from there religion. It is terrible and not what our Lord wants. We have to fight together, after all he died on the cross for all of our sins, Us ! Lets keep striving for what it is that we are here to do.

Yes, Frances, it's that, but it's also pastors not preaching the truth from The Word. Let's join in prayer for our pastors to remain true to The Word. Welcome to our forum keep coming back.

Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
It is sad, Frances, and there is much more crime, to be short, where the doors just cannot be left open. But it is also as Donna has portrayed, there are many churches that are just religious, and do not speak the truth of God's word. They have become more like businesses but I believe that God is in the process of changing that right now. I grew up in a church that never preached the truth of the gospel and I was in my 40s before I heard the truth preached and received Christ to begin my journey. I personally despise the word religion, because a person can be religious at anything, like attending baseball games but that won't get him saved. Neither will attending church regularly get a person saved but ONLY a commitment to, and following Christ and His principles will do so. God bless you, Frances.

Nancy M. from Runnemede, NJ said:
Speaking of crime, i remember before my church had their own building, our pastor said the new building will have a small chapel that will be open 24-7 for prayer. That never happened. Today we have all kinds of expensive security and the township won’t even let us on the parking lot after 11pm. Members volunteer to watch our cars while we are in service. This is a sin sick world.

Good point Denise, we must seek out for other believers. Elijah thought he was the only prophet left. He didn’t seek out other prophets. There were something like 250 more prophets.
