The whole company that had returned from exile built temporary shelters and lived in them. From the days of Joshua son of Nun until that day, the Israelites had not celebrated it like this. And their joy was very great.

It was obviously a great pleasure for them to celebrate, once again, that which they had not done during their 70 years of exile in Babylon, but now had returned to their land and were re-informed regarding what the Lord had commanded Moses. They rejoiced over their return to their land and the law of the Lord.

You chose a great verse Lloyd, your insight to this verse was spot on. As 70 years is a long time not to gather together and celebrated the Lords commands to Moses. As Christians we are eager to gather together after 5 months shut down, although we had other means of gathering for worship, you miss the face to face fellowship. Be Blest on this Lords Day. Going to be 90 degrees today :)
