Matthew 14:30
But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:
We all go through many storms in our life, but sometimes it takes a storm to refocus our eyes on Jesus. As Peter took his focus off Jesus he started to sink, we get that way when God brings storms in our life, we loose our focus, and cry out just like Peter, "Lord Save Me." I know a few times in my life things were not going as planned and just saying, "Lord help me", things came together and everything worked out. So these storms that come up in our lives, Jesus is trying to get our attention and focus on Him. Jesus is with us until the end of time.

But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, "Lord, save me!"
Patty B. from Dallas, GA said:
This verse reminds of when I go through a storm, I feel secure until I see the storm, the debt, the illness, whatever it may be. Then once I see it I get scared, worried, afraid of what will happen. It is then I cry out to God, Lord, help me.
My prayer is I will keep my eyes on Jesus all the time and not be scared or worried.

Peter the boastful, but apparently not so brave as he thought. Even so, it is there just for the asking from the Lord, "Save Me!!" He shall reach down and catch us to save us from our sin.

Shufen L. from Williamsville, NY said:
How difficult it is for us to keep our focus on the Lord's command but how easy it is for us to see the wind and be frightened. Lord, please help me not only hear your calling me to come but to keep believing that it is the Lord who called and He will keep me safe.

Although we start out with good intentions, sometimes our faith falters. This doesn' mean we have failed. We must reach out to Christ, the onle one who can help. Even though we are fearful of our circumstances, we need to look to Christ, the only one who can really help.

Don F. from St Petersburg, FL said:
When he saw the wind tells me Peter took his eyes off of Jesus. The cares of this world cause us to do this many times. This generally leads us to difficulties. I would always like to do what verse29 says,COME.Verse 27 then says "Take courage, It is I.Don't be afraid, because You truly are the Son of God (Verse 32). Our Father in Heaven gives us all of the answers.Lord, Thank You for Your Word.

Peter had enough faith to walk on water, but let his eyes decieve him by letting the earthly environment confused him. I give courage tro Peter to believe in Jesus Christ and take the leap.
