Jesus repeated Himself many times in the gospels. What He said here was that He was ministering to those who needed Him most, since they were not yet saved. In Luke He also spoke a similar word. Luke 5:32  "I did not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners."  And again He inspired John to instruct us: 1John 2:1  "My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous." Help me, Lord, to minister to those who need Jesus as Savior and Lord. Amen

The whole purpose of the Calling of Levi/ Matthew because Jesus is a friend of sinners, He came to not call the righteous, but the sinners. As we as Christians His call to us is the same as the call to Levi,( Follow Me) then if we are called to follow the Savior then we must focus on sinners. The whole purpose of Jesus coming was for the sinners. Amen and Amen

Amen again, Peter. To often, Christians attend church every week and fail to be a witness to those who don't realize their need, out in the work place, the street, or, perhaps the clerk at the grocery store. I pray that He presents opportunity as I'm out and about, where I can open a conversation about Jesus and pass a gospel booklet. Be encouraged brother, as we see the signs of the day of His return approaching.

I have heard many unbelievers say, "I can't go inside the church; I might die because of my iniquities." They always see God as a vicious dictator who throws people to the dessert whenever they disobey the rules, which is not true. As a matter of fact, God is a loving Father who aims to see His children coming home to Him and reuniting with Him and their fellow siblings. Also, This story shows the worthless of sin, as soon as a man repented. No transgression can built a wall that will hinder God's love, providence and blessing from us. That is why everyone is blessed, for they still have the chance to be changed while they are alive. Fortunately, no one is left behind— even those who committed big-time transgressions. As what the bible say, "there are more rejoicing in heaven for a soul that repented, than a hundred who are righteous." It clearly shows the love of Jesus Christ to those who stay with Him and to those who choose to come back to Him. Thus, do not be afraid to call upon the Lord. No matter what you past is or your sin was, if you are sincere in asking for forgiveness to Him; then, He is just and faithful to op forgive you and forget what you have done.

Amen, Mirasol, so true. 1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
