Mark 16:14
Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating; he rebuked them for their lack of faith and their stubborn refusal to believe those who had seen him after he had risen.

Peter B.
Peter B. from Buchanan, MI said:

Lack of Faith - Reminds me of John 20: 29 when Jesus told Thomas, Because you have seen me, you have believed; Blessed are those (meaning us) who have not seen and yet have Believed. 2 Corinthians 5: 7 For we Live by Faith not by Sight.

Well expressed, Peter. Sometimes I wonder, do I have a lack of faith, because though I have had miracles take place as I prayed, and other times nothing seems to happen. I have had dear friends (solid believers) pass away after I, and others have prayed. Lord, I pray You give me, and others too, a greater measure of faith. Your word says if we have faith as small as a mustard seed we can command a mountain to be cast into the see and it will be done, so I ask You to increase my/our faith. Amen

And the Lord still used them!! I can know that the Lord will still use me even when I have "bad" days of little faith.

Shufen L. from Williamsville, NY said:
Jesus rebuked His disciples because they just didn't believe and because of their stubbornness they couldn't understand when the eyewitnesses told them that Jesus was arisen. I can be like them, too. Unless, I am constantly filled with the Holy Spirit, no matter how much I was taught and have experienced, I can still not believe or understand what God is doing. Lord, help me be humble before you and guided by the Holy Spirit.

Even after all they had been through with Jesus, they continued to not understand and believe what he had told them before He was crucified. If they of all people didn't understand or have the kind of faith needed, then it is amazing that as time went on, more and more believed and had faith.

I can't imagine how Jesus felt when after all the time that he spent with his disciples that they would not believe that Jesus had risen after him telling them that it would happen. I can't help but wonder after all we have learn of Jesus ourselves would we believe someone if they had told us they had seen Jesus. I would hope I would.
