Leviticus 8:35
You must stay at the entrance to the tent of meeting day and night for seven days and do what the Lord requires, so you will not die; for that is what I have been commanded."

It seems to me that the Lord has very strict rules that had to be followed by his people great or small in the Old testement day. With great consequences if not followed. It's a shame that people today are not that dedicated to God what a better world we would live in. How things have gotten water down over the centuries. I am trying to be that kind of person but I have a long way to go to get there. We need God in our lives so much more today. Jeusus is a blessing to us all.

To follow the 10 commandments. They were written and given to us for our own good. Moses and Aaron and his sons were obedient. That is good for them. Not sure how it would relate to us in this generation and time period though.

They were to do everything that God commanded so that they would be holy in God's sight. If they did anything that God hadn't commanded them in performance of their duties they would be consumed by fire.

In order for Arron and his sons to be complete in their ordination they had a 7 day fasting and praying period. They are called to do as the Lord instructs during this time and they had to wait at the entrance to the temple. There is so much that we need in order to be complete and it requires a set time of fasting and praying in a specific location in obedience to the Lord.

There was quite a ritual when the priests were concentrated! Several sacrifices needed to be made. I find it interesting that the number 7 comes up several times in this passage. It is hard in this chapter to narrow down one specific verse because these are all instructions from the Lord. I believe I need to look closer at the meaning of each step of this process so I can better choose one specific verse. I chose the verse I did because I found it interesting that they had to stay at the entrance of the tent for 7 days. This intrigues me and I want to learn more about why.

I think the catholic church needs to adopt this teaching today. It certainly would get rid of the priests who shouldn't be in office who inapropriately touch young boys.
