Unfortunately, because I tend to trust people, I have been cheated a number of times and it adds up to significant dollars. I have forgiven these people but I wonder sometimes how the Lord will deal with them because of what they have done. I trust that they will some day recognize their sinful ways and truly repent and come to know Him as their Lord and Saviour.

The old saying, "Honesty is the best policy", can be better said, "Honesty is the only policy." God is a God of truth and therefore His people should also be known for the truth. We can not lie to our neighbor and love him at the same time. If we borrow something from our neighbor and something happens to it while it is in our possession we must be honest and make restitution. We do what's right because we love God and our neighbor.

What struck me regarding this verse is that the Lord says "if anyone sins and is unfaithful to the Lord by . . ." People don't realize that when they sin it is God that they are sinning against and not man.
