The Lord's instructions were very specific, just as they are under the new covenant but so much simpler today without all the detailed instructions of that time. Now, all God asks, is that we confess our sins and believe in Jesus as our sacrificial lamb, and repent of our sins and follow His example and leading. And yet it is so amazing how all His instruction foreshadows what Christ provided for us. Yet, there still churches that carry on with ritualistic practices.

Jesus fulfilled all the law reconciling us to God by offering himself once for all. Thank God for the New Testament fulfilled by his atoning death. Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Which is now our lasting ordiance fulfilled.

The LORD is ever faithful to the Israelites even though they were not always faithful to Him. He is a true promise keeper. Thanks be to Jesus, we to have a lasting ordinance (so to speak) for us also. As a Christian we need to confess our sins, turn away from them and praise Jesus for Calvary!
