Isaiah 39:4
The prophet asked, "What did they see in your palace?""They saw everything in my palace," Hezekiah said. "There is nothing among my treasures that I did not show them."

Of all the lame brained Bo Bo headed things king Hezekiah could do, this takes the cake. He's thinkin
this was a gesture of kindness from the king of Babylon, showing concern for him as fellow royalty, but it was an attempt to bring Judah to the Babylonians side against the Assyrians.
So Hezekiah gets the big head and gladly welcomes them in and gives them the grand tour without consulting either the Lord or Isaiah. He showed them his vast treasures, abundant supplies of food, and military armaments. God had blessed Hezekiah with great wealth, so the visitors were quite impressed
can you imagine Isaiah's outrage when he found out? He told Hezekiah that they'd be back, and not only steal all those riches, But they would take the true riches, his sons, and make them eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon:
This is the quintessential casting your pearls before swine, he showed them everything Judah had, and where it was when they came to take it. Which they did under King Nebuchadnezzar a hundred years later, just as Isaiah prophesied. Isaiah's prophecy is so remarkably accurate that many skeptics insist, with only the grounds unbelief, that it must have been written after the fact.
The saddest part about this whole thing is how Hezekiah responded, oh well, at least it won't happen in my lifetime. Whaaaaaat? Really?
God give Hezekiah the gift of an extra 15 years of life, but he sure didn't add life to those years by
becoming a more godly man. No, sounds like he used them to produce a foul demonic offspring and become proud arrogant and selfish. Time or age doesn't make us any better unless we let God redeem our time. Papa God, I see this same attitude among Americans today as we sell our future generations into slavery so we can have all the newest toys in our lives today. Please forgive us Lord for our stubbornness, arrogance and selfishness.

Oh man, that's me! All to often I think my motivation is sinful; in wanting others to see Jesus in me, is it that Christ will be glorified, or a fleshly desire that I will be esteemed? Hum. Hezekiah must have realized that God had blessed him. He wanted those of the world (Babylon represents the evil worldly system; which is where he chose envoys).
To God belongs 'all' the glory. He will not sharie it with anyone, and rightfully so. Convicting-thank you Jesus.
