Hebrews 8:9
It will not be like the covenant
I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they did not remain faithful to my covenant,
and I turned away from them,
declares the Lord.

Actually, it's verse 12 that I would like to mention, but for some reason it is omitted from this version of the Bible, as is 10 and 11 also. Anyhow, vs. 12 from the KJV "For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." I might be wrong, but I love this verse as it shows God's infinite love and mercy towards His people.

I am a little disturbed because verses 10, 11, and 12 of this chapter have been omitted from today's reading (Is this just a typo?)
Verse 10 is important to me as it continues with God saying..."I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they will be my people." When we read and study God's word, and hide it in our heart, it becomes a part of us, then the Holy Spirit brings it to our remembrance for such times as it is needed. Thank God for His Word that is alive and within us and as we have already seen, is sharper than any two-edged sword.
