It shows how Joseph forgave his brothers. He did not hold any anger towards them. Joseph feels in his heart it was God's plan after all.

Even as his brothers had mistreated him years before, Joseph did not blame them for doing so. He realized that it had been God who arranged to whole scenario, as He (God) knew what was going to take place, and had made provision through Joseph. The knowledge and wisdom of God is unfathomable, and Joseph had followed the principles and faith God had given him, and now God was rewarding him by saving his entire family. What a lesson Joseph has given us, to trust in God for all things when we follow His lead as Joseph did.

Same verse Lloyd, through Gods plan He sent Joseph to Egypt to preserve the life of his family. And as you stated through Josephs trust and faith in God the life of his family was preserved. Even though everything Joseph had gone through was difficult he saw Gods plan and did not blame his brothers he offered them forgiveness. God had bigger plans for him.
