And now the nation of Israel receives its name because of the faithfulness and perseverance of Jacob. This shows that God rewards the righteous. May the Lord open the understanding of the world today, that if they would follow the leading of the Lord, all would be well and the people be blessed. Help us Lord, to influence the people of the world, that all may be blessed. Amen

Here we see the changing of Jacobs name, this name given to Jacob by God, will be the name of Gods people , Israel, a nation that struggles with humans (even today) but have overcome these struggles. But continue to struggle with God because of human (weakness like we all do) but through the Grace and Mercy of God we can overcome our struggles/weakness. 1 John 5:4 For ever one born of God, overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our Faith.

Yes Peter, all humanity struggles and Israel has a tremendous struggle with all the antisemitic persecution of the Jewish people which is increasing world wide, yet God will have the last say, and we know His people will survive as they turn to Yeshua (Jesus). Keep hanging onto our Anchor my brother in Christ, for He is our solid rock. :-)

Oh the struggles we have with God and humans...the trials that we encounter today are as real as the ones that God's prophets years ago...God hasn't changed...He's still the same God yesterday, today and tomorrow...He allows us to have struggles because He is there to get us through them...when we have God in our lives and give Him the reins to lead, He will get us through the toughest trials...when others see God in our lives, they can see His strength in our weaknesses...hallelujah! Thank You, Lord God for Your Presence in my life...AMEN!

Amen. He has brought me through so much, and yet there are days I wonder if He's still watching over me, even though I know He is. God bless, Joyce.

Then the man said,"Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have over come." Walking with God in times of trouble, we as Christians need to believe that God is always in control.

I like the fact that God gives Jacob a new name. When I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savor, I am a new creature; the old things passed away; behold new things have come. 2 Corinth 5:17
