Exodus 5:2
Pharaoh said, "Who is the Lord, that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord and I will not let Israel go."

I find this verse interesting. Why did Moses not give Pharaoh more information about our Lord ? I don't think that would have been in God's Purpose because He used Pharaoh to teach us this lesson.

Here we see Pharaoh rebelling against the plan of God, and we know from previous study in Genesis man can not change the plans of God. Even the words that he spoke in this verse, "I know not the Lord" shows the condition of his soul. Rebellion started in the garden of Eden when God told Adam one command, just one Don't eat the fruit of the Tree of Life Genesis 3:3. And we can't forget the rebellion in the wilderness as we see in up coming chapters. God has a plan for each and us, the plan of Salvation Acts 16:13 Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be save-you and your household. Do not Rebel against God's plan.

Well expressed, Peter. As you stated, God had a plan and all the factors played a significant part in His divine plan. Job 28:28  And to man He said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom! And to depart from evil is understanding! Have a great weekend Peter, as we keep our attention on our loving Master.

Thank you Peter for this explanation which open my mind to our Lord's Purpose and Plan. We can question the situation in the garden all we want to but nothing will change God's Purpose and Plan. He is perfect and God want us to be perfect. We need to deny self and follow Him. How wonderful is our Lord the Christ Jesus.

The Pharaoh claimed not to know the Lord but he sure will know Him after the ten plagues are over. Many people today say similar things about God but like the Pharaoh one day they will know Him. We as believers have a privilege of sharing Christ with unbelievers. May God open our eyes to the many opportunities we let slip by.

Those that do not "Know The Lord"; that do not have a personal relationship with Jesus; do not understand why they should 'hear & obey' Him.

This questions echos across time. World leaders to this day deny the Lord and refuse to recognize Israel. It is a resounding warning to their arrogance.

Ths is the typical response of a proud unsaved leader. They may not know the Lord and see themselves as the final authority but one day they will meet the Lord face to face and they will bow down and give Him the glory He deserves and call Him Lord! It is pride that keeps most lost people from admitting they are sinners in need of Savior. Help me oh Lord to remain humble and faithful in sharing my faith with the lost.
