Exodus 32:24
So I told them, 'Whoever has any gold jewelry, take it off.' Then they gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!"
Lloyd S. from Trenton, ON said:
Aaron lied, even to Moses, regarding his part in the making of the false gods. Help us, Lord, to remember that we can not lie and worship other gods, and expect that You do not already know, for You know all things, just as You informed Moses that the people had forsaken You. Amen.

Aaron is attempting to deceive Moses: Aaron took the LEAD role in collecting gold, melting it down and fashioning a calf with tools, but says Then they gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!". Aaron attempts to deflect blame from himself. He was consecrated by God, but If he had been loyal to Moses and God or somewhat of a righteous/holy man he would have taken a stand for God and prevented this farce that resulted in thousands being slaughtered and the rest wandering the desert for 40 more years. Why he is allowed to live, but Anannias and Sapphira are struck dead for a lie is beyond me.

This is funny to me to see Aaron acting like a guilty child who knows he has done something wrong. It Wasn't Me! Ididn't do it. Earlier we are told he fashion the melted gold into a calf idol. Here he says he threw the gold in the fire and out popped an idol in the shape of an idol. Aaron had nothing to do with it. Do We do this when we are caught doing something wrong or not obeying or doing what we should. Yes we too are human and sinners. Hopefully saved now and our sins forgiven.

Here Aaron is saying " well ah, ah, well the pepole just gave me the gold and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!"--- Now that is just plane lamb, did he think that Moses was just born yesterday? did he really think Moses would believe what he said?
Yet, when we are waiting on God to act on our behalf, how many times do we feel that we have waited long enough and we step out on our own, only to get our self hog tied into telling tall tails, or "white lies"? And we are cut off from our relationship with God, untill we humbly come back and say, "Lord, it's me again, I disobyed your word, I ask for You forgiveness, Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniguity. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit with in me. Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
Restore to me the joy of my salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me.

"I didn't do it!" The story repeats itself: Adam blames Eve, Aaron blames the people... He even blames the fire itself: "I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!" Of it's own accord, I'm sure.
Who will I blame? The people around me? The circumstances? My own humanity? Or will we be willing to do like Moses, who puts himself in place of the sinful people? "Forgive their sin, or blot me from Your book as well." Blame me, Lord. As Jesus did, taking the fall for our humanity.
Lord, blame me. I will be responsible for my own sin. I will take on the responsibility for those around me. Save them, Lord, at all costs; even if that cost is me.
