Exodus 32:24
So I told them, 'Whoever has any gold jewelry, take it off.' Then they gave me the gold, and I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!"
Kimberly V. from Cleveland, OH said:
"I didn't do it!" The story repeats itself: Adam blames Eve, Aaron blames the people... He even blames the fire itself: "I threw it into the fire, and out came this calf!" Of it's own accord, I'm sure.
Who will I blame? The people around me? The circumstances? My own humanity? Or will we be willing to do like Moses, who puts himself in place of the sinful people? "Forgive their sin, or blot me from Your book as well." Blame me, Lord. As Jesus did, taking the fall for our humanity.
Lord, blame me. I will be responsible for my own sin. I will take on the responsibility for those around me. Save them, Lord, at all costs; even if that cost is me.
