Ephesians 2:8
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—

Ephesians 2: 8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast. God loves us whether we're good or bad, so there's nothing we can do to make Him love us more or less. Romans 5 tells us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. The secret of the Christian life is grace. Vs 5 tells us that God loved us when we were still dead in our sins. A dead man, in his coffin isn't gonna complain about being uncomfortable, but if he came back to life, the first thing he's gonna experience is discomfort with his surroundings and want out. The first thing someone that receives the free gift of eternal life is that they become uncomfortable in their surroundings and begin to want different things. If they don't, it's more than likely a false conversion. Our salvation had NOTHING, ZIP, NADA to do with ANYTHING we've done, period. It's only by grace that we're saved thru faith, which in itself is a gift from God. He gives us the gift, but we hafta be the one to receive it. He won't force it on us, ever. If we, as humans try to give someone a gift, and they refuse it, we'd probably say, "fine have it your way". But, not God, He continues pursuing us trying to give us this gift. But if we say no, He HAS to honor our wishes. When we stand before God, NOTHING we did is gonna be a sufficient reason to enter Heaven. God's love is so amazing, it meets us where we're at, and when we receive it, it takes us where we need to be. It's not just to save our soul from hell, but to change our life here on earth. That doesn't mean that just because we receive God's free gift of eternal life that our circumstances here on earth are gonna become instantly hunky dory. Most of our circumstances are a result of our bad choices. God's love changes who we are from the inside, and as we read His Word, we begin to think like God, then talk like God and eventually act like God. We then see the world differently and our priorities change. As we begin to act like God, we see the world as God sees it, lost, hurting and bound for hell, which is forever. We won't be able to NOT share our faith with the lost. Papa God, open the eyes of my heart that I'll see everything and everyone as You see it, in Jesus name, Amen

Ephesians 2:8 -For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- Ephesians 2:8 - And verse 9 "not by works, so that no one can boast." We are saved by GRACE! God's Riches At Christ Expense! Salvation is a free gift that we cannot earn and we do NOT deserve. Sounds like it is 90% God and 10% us.WRONG! It's 100% God's doing, for God is the author and finisher of our faith. "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God."(Hebrews 12:2). It was God who began the good work in us and it is God who will complete it. (Philippians 1:6). You may think you came to Jesus because you walk an aisle, but The Word of God says, ""No one can come to Me (Jesus) unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day." (John 6:44). Father in Heaven I am forever grateful that you saved me. ♫ You did not wait for me to draw nigh to You, ♫ but You clothed Yourself in frail humanity. ♫ You did not wait for me to cry out to You, ♪ but You let me hear Your voice calling me. ♪ And I'm forever grateful, Lord, to You. ♫ And I'm forever grateful for the cross. ♪ And I'm forever grateful to You, ♫ that You came to seek and save the lost. ♪

God knew we could not live by the law or do anything to save ourselves so He sent his son, his only son - Jesus Christ. Sometimes I still wonder why God would love me that much but I know I am his creation, his daughter. So because of his son I live by faith knowing one day I will see him face to face.

It truly is a gift from God and at this time of the year when we are thinking of gifts for others in our lives, we need to stop and think about this most precious of gifts from God, our Father....what he has given to us can not even compare to any material gift but it stands out above everything else for this gift....this gift of grace has been shed upon us and we realize what Jesus has done for us by giving his life as a sacrifice for our sins.....could there possibly be any gift with any more meaning and magnitude than the gift of God? God bless all of you my brothers and sisters!

This is a verse, or actually group of verses, 8-10 which got my attention when I was saved. It was because of God's grace that we are saved and not by special works. I wish the church I grew up in had preached the truth of this. I likely would have come to the Lord much sooner and spared myself much grieve and struggles. Too many churches not preaching according to the word of God, the Bible.

I praise God for leading me into a church soon after giving my life to Him, that did teach this. What peace and joy there is, when knowing God loves us so much and He will never leave us, nor forsake us. He is beautiful, worthy of all honor, all glory and praise. God bless you and yours Lloyd.

This verse says to me that I am unable to save myself or anyone else by my own power, possession or work. I am saved by the abundant, unmerited, and matchless Grace of a soveriegn God. It is His gifts to me and I have the choice to recieve or rejects His gift. Father God I thank you for the gifts so freely offered through your Son Jesus who shed His redeemptive blood for me so that I can have newness of life in you. Thank you that because of that gift I am saved and many like me have recieved that gift. Now Father, help be to share that gift with all those whom I may come into contact with so that others may come into the full saving of your abundant Grace. Thank you Lord for Your gift. Thank you for this medium to share with others in Christ name I pray. Amen!
