Gamaliel had wisdom, realizing that if God had empowered the apostles, that nothing could stop them and they'd be fighting against God, who could not be defeated. The boldness and confidence of the apostles was noteworthy because they trusted totally in the Lord. Lord, grant to me/us the confidence and boldness of Peter and the other apostles, that we might be fearless as we reach out to the unsaved. Amen

Over the years I have found myself questioning wheather I was doing God's will or my own in many circumstances. This verse reminds me that when we are in God's will things usually go much more smoothly. When we try to go against God's will (follow our own path) for our lives we often find ourselves struggling or "fighting against God." v39
